Go with the flow ~ Wellness℠
Without “real life” experience I couldn't be an effective Health Coach.
Life has been my training ground, or my battlefield as some may say. I have a master’s degree in “What to expect when faced with the unexpected!” As a wife and mom raising a child with complex medical issues, my marriage, extended family, friendships, spirituality, and health have all been tested. I’ve learned from my successes, my mistakes, and would have ~ should have ~ could haves.
I’m living proof that you can be happy and enjoy life, you can have a wonderful marriage, lasting friendships, and you can rise above
it all with joy in your life. I've experienced a whole new world, a different world, but a beautiful world.
I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole. I work with my clients to create a healthy lifestyle in a way that is flexible, fun and rewarding.
My “official” training was received at the world's largest nutrition school, the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
I've learned from experts in the health and wellness field; such as, Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.
Drawing on this knowledge, I will help you create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.
What is special about my training is that IIN doesn't just teach about Nutrition. It's also about our Primary Foods and Bio-individuality.
Here are some concepts that we will explore during our work together:
Bio-individuality: The concept of bio-individuality is that each person has unique food and lifestyle needs. If you are the caregiver for a child, spouse, or parent you know how unique your life is. Working on the principle of bio-individuality, I’ll support you to make positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, and preferences. Have I mentioned that my motto is, "Keep It Simple". Well, it is!
Primary Food: It’s easy to overlook all of the things that contribute to our sense of nourishment and fulfillment. It’s not just the food we eat, but all of the other factors present in our daily lives. Healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity and a spiritual awareness are essential forms of nourishment. When these “primary foods” are balanced, what you eat becomes secondary. I will support you in achieving all of your goals, from eating the right foods for your body to living an inspired, fulfilling life.
